Cam networks compared: Stripchat, Chaturbate and the rest

We count every performer on seven cam networks several times an hour. Here is what those counts say about who streams where, what each network costs, and which one suits which viewer.

Cam networks compared: Stripchat, Chaturbate and the rest

Most comparisons of cam networks are written from the outside: someone signs up to three sites, spends an evening on each and reports a feeling. We are in an unusual position to do better. CherryLiveCams merges the public feeds of seven networks into one grid, which means that several times an hour we count every performer each network has online, along with what they stream as and where they say they are. This piece is built on those counts.

Everything below was measured on 27 September 2026. The numbers move, which is the nature of the thing, so every figure links to the page that shows the current one.

The seven networks at a glance

The first thing the data says is that this is not a three-horse race, and that the two names people argue about are not the two that matter most.

Share of every performer live across CherryLiveCams, measured 27 September 2026. Current counts: all cams.
NetworkLive nowShare of the gridHow you watch
Stripchat8,43844.6%Free public rooms
Chaturbate6,21732.9%Free public rooms
CamSoda1,2216.5%Free public rooms
CAM41,1796.2%Free public rooms
BongaCams1,1225.9%Free public rooms
LiveJasmin4882.6%Preview, then private
XCams2511.3%Preview, then private

Stripchat and Chaturbate together are more than three quarters of everything listed. The other five are not filler, since a network with a thousand rooms live is a large site by any normal measure, but if you are choosing where to spend an evening, those two are where the choice mostly is.

The three smallest each have a quirk worth knowing before you open them.

CamSoda

CamSoda is the most recent addition to the grid, and its share sits close to CAM4 and BongaCams. Its public rooms work like the big tip-driven sites. The catch is location: CamSoda publishes no performer country, so its rooms never appear on a country page. More on its own page: CamSoda cams.

LiveJasmin

LiveJasmin is one of the two smallest networks we list, and the one that leans hardest towards private shows. Its rooms play in a framed player on our profile page, so you can see one before you leave the site. See LiveJasmin cams.

XCams

XCams is the other of the two smallest. It publishes no video stream, so its rooms open on XCams as a link rather than playing in a player here. Its live rooms are collected on XCams cams.

Who actually streams on each network

This is the table that changes decisions, and it is the one nobody publishes. The networks all describe themselves in much the same language; their line-ups are not remotely the same.

Share of each network's live performers by how they list themselves, measured 27 September 2026. Rows do not always reach 100%: a few performers set no gender.

BongaCams94%<1%6%<1%
CamSoda88%4%<1%8%
XCams92%<1%2%6%
LiveJasmin79%4%4%13%
Chaturbate67%20%4%9%
Stripchat63%11%19%7%
CAM456%32%5%7%

Three findings worth stating plainly.

If you want men, CAM4 is not simply an option, it is the answer. Just under a third of everyone live on CAM4 is a man, against one in five on Chaturbate and effectively nobody on BongaCams. CAM4 has a fraction of Chaturbate's total size and still fields a comparable number of male rooms. The men page merges them all if you would rather not choose.

If you want couples, Stripchat is in a class of its own. Nineteen per cent of Stripchat's grid is couples, one room in five, where every other network sits between one and six per cent. Nothing on the other six comes close. See couples.

BongaCams is a women-only site in everything but name. Ninety-four per cent women, six per cent couples, and a rounding error of anything else. That is not a criticism; it is simply what you are choosing when you pick it.

Where performers say they are

Location is self-declared on a network profile, so read it as what a performer says rather than a verified fact. With that caveat it is still the clearest signal of a network's character.

The largest declared countries on each network as a share of that network's live performers, measured 27 September 2026. LiveJasmin and CamSoda publish no location in their feeds at all.
NetworkLargestSecondThird
ChaturbateColombia 36%United States 7%Philippines 6%
XCamsColombia 23%Ukraine 10%Russia 8%
BongaCamsColombia 21%Russia 11%Kenya 6%
CAM4Colombia 20%United States 17%France 11%
StripchatColombia 15%India 3%United States 2%
LiveJasminNo location published in the feed
CamSodaNo location published in the feed

Colombia leads every network that publishes a location, which tells you how completely the Colombian studio industry has come to supply this business. The differences are in what comes after it. CAM4 is the most European list by a distance, with France alone at eleven per cent of it and Italy close behind, and the most American outside the US-focused sites. BongaCams is the Russian-speaking one. Chaturbate is the most concentrated: more than a third of it is a single country.

Two networks publish no location at all. That is worth knowing before you go looking for it: on LiveJasmin and CamSoda, a country filter cannot work, and any site that shows you one for those networks is guessing.

Free rooms, tokens and private shows

The business model splits the seven into two groups, and it is the single most important practical difference between them.

How each network expects to be paid. Nothing is ever paid on CherryLiveCams; tokens are bought on the network after you click through.
NetworkPublic roomThe usual way to pay
ChaturbateFree, explicitTips in public, goals
StripchatFree, explicitTips, goals, private
CAM4Free, explicitTips in public
BongaCamsFree, explicitTips, then private
CamSodaFree, explicitTips, goals
LiveJasminClothed previewPrivate show, per minute
XCamsClothed previewPrivate show, per minute

On the first five, the public room is the show. Performers earn from tips and from goals the room fills together, and you can watch indefinitely without spending anything, which is the model most people mean when they say "cam site". On LiveJasmin and XCams the public room is a preview and the show happens in a paid private, billed by the minute. Neither model is better; they attract different performers and reward different behaviour. But arriving at LiveJasmin expecting Chaturbate is the most common way people end up annoyed.

Our guide to tokens and tipping covers what a token is actually worth on each and why the packages are priced the way they are.

When each network is busiest

Every network has a daily rhythm, and they are not the same rhythm, because they draw on different countries. A network that is mostly Colombian peaks when Colombia is awake.

Rather than reprint numbers that go stale, each network page carries a 24-hour activity ribbon built from our own presence records, with the sample size behind every hour published underneath it. Those are live: Stripchat, Chaturbate, CamSoda, CAM4, BongaCams, LiveJasmin, XCams. The broad pattern: the Latin American evening is when the grid as a whole is fullest, the European evening is the second peak, and the quietest stretch worldwide is the Colombian breakfast.

Which network suits which viewer

  • You want the largest choice, full stop. Stripchat, then Chaturbate. Between them they are 77% of everything live.
  • You want men. CAM4 first, Chaturbate second. Nowhere else is close.
  • You want couples. Stripchat, by a factor of three over anyone else.
  • You want trans performers. LiveJasmin has the highest share at 13%, but Chaturbate has far more of them in absolute terms because it is thirteen times the size.
  • You want Russian-speaking rooms. BongaCams.
  • You want European performers. CAM4.
  • You want a one-to-one show and would rather not sit in a public room. LiveJasmin.
  • You want to spend nothing. Any of the first five. The public rooms are genuinely free to watch.

How to compare them here

Every page on this site can be narrowed by network, so a comparison does not have to mean opening seven tabs. Start from a category, a country or a gender and use the network chips to see who each one has on that exact thing right now. The counts beside each chip are live, so the comparison is of what is actually online rather than what a homepage claims.

We take an affiliate commission when you click through to a network and sign up. It does not change what we list or the order it appears in: the grid is ordered by how busy each room is, and no network can pay for placement. The figures in this piece are the same ones the site runs on.

Method

CherryLiveCams polls each network's public affiliate feed on a schedule and records who is online. The shares above are single-moment counts taken on 27 September 2026 across 18,916 live performers, not averages, so they carry the ordinary noise of one measurement: treat a two-point gap as a tie and a twenty-point gap as real. Gender and location are as the performer set them on their own network profile; neither is verified by us and location in particular should be read as a claim rather than a fact. Performers under 18, or whose age a network leaves unstated while flagging it, are rejected before anything is stored.

If you are in the UK, the age check you meet on arrival is the one the Online Safety Act 2023 requires; we explain what it does and does not share in our piece on UK age verification.
